Senior Frontend Developer role at Gizmo. Gizmo is an AI startup on a mission to make learning easy and engaging. We are building a platform that uses gamification and social mechanics to enhance learning, with over 1 million monthly active users and $4M in annual recurring revenue. We recently raised $22M in Series A funding to accelerate our vision of helping 1 billion people learn.

Role Overview

As a Front End Developer at Gizmo, you’ll report directly to the Founders and help shape the product experience for our rapidly growing user base. You’ll focus on delivering world-class frontend experiences that make learning intuitive, playful, and engaging, while also collaborating across the full stack as needed.

You’ll work closely with our engineering team to build, test and ship features that bring our vision to life in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with significant opportunities to impact and grow with the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, maintain and own user-facing features with a focus on performance, usability, and delightful interactions across web and mobile platforms.
• Collaborate with designers and product managers to translate Figma designs and product requirements into functional, high-quality code.
• Own features end-to-end, from technical design and implementation to release, iteration, and ongoing improvement.
• Participate in code reviews, technical planning, and team stand-ups to maintain a high engineering standard.
• While frontend is the focus, contribute to back-end services and APIs when needed.

Requirements

• Strong frontend focus with experience delivering end-to-end projects. Excellent UX, accessibility and performance mindset.
• Proficiency with React, TypeScript and Tailwind.
• Preference (not essential) for Python and PostgreSQL.
• Comfortable working with APIs and contributing to back-end logic.
• Driven by impact and prioritizing work that moves the needle.
• Self-starter with a maker mindset; startup experience or being a former founder is valued.
• Fast learner, ambitious, and motivated to build something meaningful.
• Open-minded and feedback-oriented, continuously seeking to learn and improve.
• Willingness to work hard for the opportunity to build something great.
• Hybrid working model with 4 days in the East London office (Shoreditch High Street / Old Street / Liverpool Street).
