As a Senior Software Engineer, you will help develop, test, and maintain high-quality applications across multiple platforms. You\'ll collaborate with Product Owners, Technical Leads, and teams to deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions that meet evolving needs. You will support several applications including a .NET web application hosted for a high-profile client and Experian Link. Experian Link is a keying solution that processes and matches name and address data to create unique, persistent identifiers for households, individuals, and properties. Link features a distributed client-server architecture and supports both on-premise and cloud hosted deployments. It uses SOAP and Windows services for communication and integrates with Experian\'s Marketing Database products through its Adhoc Loader variant. This is a hybrid role based in Nottingham reporting to the Lead Developer and offers the opportunity to work on impactful data management solutions that power critical decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable and maintainable software applications across multiple platforms using .NET.
  • Develop RESTful APIs and backend services, ensuring secure and efficient components.
  • Provide technical leadership within the team, guiding design decisions, reviewing code, and mentoring and supporting junior developers.
  • Participate in architectural discussions and help define technical standards for the team.
  • Work with the POs and Tech Lead to evaluate possible solutions and refine the business and technical requirements within agreed time frames that meet security and privacy standards of Experian.
  • Participate in Scrum ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives) and contribute to iterative development cycles.
  • Follow published processes and recommend enhancements to process.
  • Work across teams and departments to ensure the ongoing health and performance of IT systems are maintained and enhanced.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, analysis and design of applications, programs and databases, and share knowledge with the team to promote learning.
  • Explore new tools, frameworks, and practices to improve development efficiency and product quality.

  • Full-stack web development experience — building web applications using ASP.NET (Web Forms, Razor, REST), JavaScript, and modern frameworks such as React and Angular.
  • Backend and integration proficiency — experience developing RESTful and SOAP APIs, Windows services, and desktop applications; SQL Server development skills and familiarity with XML and JSON data formats.
  • Desirable cloud and containerization knowledge — hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, SQS, EventBridge) and container technologies such as Docker. Exposure to C/C++ is advantageous for supporting legacy systems. React and Angular for application development.
