Senior Grants Manager (Maternity cover), CHARITY PEOPLE

London-based Senior Grants Manager (maternity cover) role in partnership with a growing UK-based family foundation. 9-12 month fixed term contract to start in December 2025. Full time with flexible working hours. 4 days in the office and 1 day working from home (hybrid) with some national travel. Salary £50,000-£55,000 depending on experience. Excellent benefits including 25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays, employer pension contribution of 3%, private healthcare, onsite employee gym and café.

Overview

Charity People are delighted to partner with the Foundation to recruit a Senior Grants Manager to cover a maternity leave. The role focuses on managing a diverse portfolio of grants across key funding areas, with emphasis on health (including mental health) and the UK Jewish community.

Responsibilities

  • Grant Management & Compliance: Oversee all stages of the grant lifecycle, ensuring alignment with Foundation guidelines, values, and objectives.
  • Relationship & Stakeholder Management: Cultivate strong relationships with grantees, charities, and non-profit organisations, acting as the primary point of contact.
  • Evaluation & Reporting: Monitor grantee outcomes, assess programme effectiveness, and prepare detailed reports for stakeholders and board members, highlighting impact and progress.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • At least 5 years' experience in grant management, preferably within a philanthropic private foundation, including grant assessments and grant reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with grant management databases (e.g., Blackbaud).
  • Excellent communication and the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely; strong strategic thinking.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; comfortable working accurately with figures.
  • Collaborative team player with a flexible, “can do” attitude; able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel nationally; background checks required due to work within a family foundation.

Location & Working Arrangements

Based in Camden (London) with a four-days-in-office, one-day-from-home hybrid policy. Some evening events and national travel to visit grantees.
