Senior Hardware Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Hardware Engineer to join our Bournemouth UK Team!
You will be responsible for implementing all aspects of the electronic design and development process, from initial concept through to the completion of sealed data packs. You will also liaise with software engineers, mechanical engineers, manufacturing, and sales to ensure the product is fit for purpose, cost-effective, and reliable.
Location: Letchworth office, UK.

Key responsibilities include:
- Participating individually and as part of an integrated project team in the design of the company's products.
- Designing and developing new flight recorders, air data computers, ruggedized computer systems, or video products.
- Maintaining existing product lines, including obsolescence management, circuit upgrades, and production support.
- Ensuring successful completion of qualification tests, both in-house and at external test houses.
- Contributing to design reviews and supporting junior colleagues in technical matters.
- Evaluating and introducing new technologies into product designs.
- Accepting technical responsibility for assigned design tasks.
- Assisting in the introduction of equipment into manufacturing in a cost-effective and timely manner.
- Representing the hardware function internally and externally.
- Traveling occasionally within the UK and internationally as required.
What you bring:
- A degree or HND in a relevant technical subject.
- Experience in embedded systems, digital and analogue design.
- Familiarity with microprocessor and microcontroller systems.
- Proficiency in schematic design using ORCAD or similar tools.
- Knowledge of Op Amp analogue design and DC-DC power supplies.
- Experience with EMC design considerations.
- Ability to perform environmental testing to standards such as RTCA/DO-160, including report writing.
- Fault-finding skills down to the board level.
- Experience working closely with production is advantageous.
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, medical, or safety-critical environments is advantageous.
