Our mission is to accelerate a cure for brain tumours and improve life for everyone affected by this devastating disease.Imagine how rewarding it would be to use your experience in Neuro-Oncology/Oncology to drive real improvements to service and patient care for Young Adults/Paediatrics affected by a brain tumour.We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Young Adult/Paediatric healthcare professional with Neuro-Oncology or Oncology experience to work with our Healthcare Engagement Manager and Senior Paediatric Healthcare Engagement AHP. You will support healthcare professionals in providing high quality patient care in the Young Adult/Paediatric Neuro-Oncology field which will make a real difference to patients’ lives.Location: While contracted to our office in Fleet, Hampshire, our team supports a blend of office and home working provided you have adequate broadband and IT capability, with an average of 2-3 days in the office each week.Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, with some out of hours working.Salary: c. £36,300 (dependent on level).You’ll bring your experience of Young Adult/Paediatric Neuro-Oncology/Oncology to help us realise our vision of bringing together this professional community and help improve outcomes for patients.This is primarily a remote working role and we are seeking someone who is self-motivated, with the ability to work unsupervised and manage their own workload and diary. You’ll visit all 19 Paediatric and 30 Adult neurosciences centres around the UK, attend conferences, and be welcome at our head office in Fleet (Hampshire).You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience of collaborative working across multiple sectors. You will develop the existing network which promotes Young Adult/Paediatric Neuro-Oncology best practice and fosters peer networks and support. You will influence service improvement and patient care to achieve better outcomes for patients’ quality of life.ResponsibilitiesDevelop new opportunities to work in partnership with Young Adult/Paediatric neuroscience centres, treatment centres and hospitals to drive best practice in Young Adult/Paediatric brain tumour care with improved outcomes and quality of lifeFurther develop the Young Adult/Paediatric healthcare professional network, ensuring productive relationshipsWork collaboratively internally and externally to understand the needs of different healthcare audiences; develop engagement tools and activities to increase knowledge and confidence in brain tumoursHelp build networks to influence service improvement and patient care for better outcomesCoordinate and facilitate engagement activities with healthcare professionals to gather actionable insights, develop surveys and produce hospital reportsSupport the development and delivery of CPD with Tessa Jowell Centres of Excellence and other external professionalsMaintain high quality records for reporting on key performance indicators and evaluationNetwork by attending meetings, conferences and external events (overnight stays when required)Qualifications & ExperienceNursing/Allied Health Professional with at least four years at band 5First degree or Diploma in Nursing or Allied HealthEvidence of continued professional developmentTeaching, Mentorship and Preceptorship qualifications (or willing to work towards)Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesUnderstanding of the diverse needs of Young Adult/Paediatric Neuro-Oncology patientsUnderstanding of clinical Neuro-Oncology Young Adult/Paediatric pathways or Oncology pathwaysAbility to work autonomously and flexibly to meet service needsAbility to act as a role model and lead changeInitiative to explain decisions; ability to influence with excellent written and verbal communicationDriving license and access to a carAdditional informationPlease note: responsibilities listed are not exhaustive and may evolve.
