Key Responsibilities

  • Act as ER support for investigations – formal grievances/disciplinaries, and lead on major restructures.
  • Review relevant people data and partner with regions on ER topics to support business objectives.
  • Attend regional meetings twice a year.
  • Lead on appeals from HR Advisor level cases.
  • Deliver training sessions to team and wider business.
  • Support with litigation cases.
  • Assist the HR Advisor team leader with admin on their cases (appeals mainly).
  • Cover HR Advisor team leader role during annual leave.
  • Manage HR projects.
  • Upskill managers on HR best practice and ER capability.
  • Act as point of escalation for HR Advisor queries.
  • Review stage 1 outcomes for HR Advisors.
  • Support with attrition review and actions.
  • Proactively identify improvements within the HR function and support implementation of required actions.
  • Cover HR Advisor team cover during leave.
  • Support with proactive action points.
  • Provide support to new managers joining through TUPE.
  • Attend Becket House, Worthing quarterly for HR meetings.

This role requires a diplomatic, collaborative and discreet individual with ample scope to make an impact within a brand fully committed to staff satisfaction and career development. What we are looking for

  • At least 3 years of recent HR Advisor experience, advising on employee relations matters and applying employment legislation.
  • Experience running ER cases: disciplinary, absence management, grievances, capability processes.
  • Experience advising on and implementing business changes such as restructures and redundancy processes.
  • Strong UK employment law knowledge.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills, and experience building productive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Experience managing and interpreting data.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills to handle multiple ER cases simultaneously.
  • Experience with HR databases.
  • Experience working within a team.
  • Strong report‑writing skills using software such as Microsoft Word.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing business needs while delivering excellent service.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a busy and complex role.
  • Willingness to work flexibly when needed.
  • CIPD qualified or working towards qualification.
  • Multi‑site experience from a central location would be advantageous.
