Your Role And Responsibilities

  • Work model: hybrid from our St Neots location {}
  • Configuration and commissioning of firewalls, industrial switches, security update services, application whitelisting, secure remote access solutions, SIEM platforms and other security-related hardware and software tailored for operational technology environments.
  • Development and implementation of security frameworks within industrial Active Directory (AD) environments, including managing user and device authentication, group policies, and access controls for OT network assets.
  • Presenting OT network architecture decisions and associated risk assessments to customers, ensuring clarity on operational impacts and mitigation strategies.
  • Conducting thorough evaluations of industrial control systems with a focus on OT network security and creating security concepts that address customer requirements and adhere to industry standards such as IEC62443.
  • Providing consultancy on bids and proposals regarding OT network architecture, including segmentation, protocol selection, and integration of security controls within industrial networks.
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement in OT network design, configuration and daily operations, and offering practical recommendations for enhancing security and operational resilience.

Qualifications For The Role

  • Education & Certifications: IT-related degree preferred, ideally with a focus on cybersecurity. Professional certifications such as Microsoft Security, Network Security, or IEC62443 are advantageous.
  • Experience: Extensive background in IT, OT, or network operations, with proven experience implementing and managing cybersecurity within industrial control system environments. Prior experience in the Oil & Gas sector is highly desirable.
  • Technical Expertise: Skilled in Windows operating systems, networking, and virtualization technologies (ESXi / HyperV).
  • Strong understanding of firewalls, Layer 3 switches, control network infrastructure, and secure VPN technologies (IPSec).
  • Expertise in network security, switching and routing, and securing Microsoft operating systems and virtualised server infrastructure.
  • Security Frameworks & Standards: In-depth knowledge of IEC62443 standards, the Purdue Model architecture, and best practices for securing both IT and OT environments.
  • Professional Skills: Demonstrated ability to design, configure, test, and commission secure network systems; effective decision‑making, organisation, and time management skills; capable of managing multi‑discipline projects and driving continuous cybersecurity improvement initiatives.
  • Mobility: Must be able to travel within the UK and overseas as required.
