Your new role
As an Indirect Tax / VAT Senior Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality VAT and indirect tax advice to a diverse client base, while also supporting internal teams and contributing to business development. Your responsibilities will include:
- Advising clients on complex VAT and indirect tax matters across sectors including owner-managed businesses, listed companies, and multinationals
- Managing VAT projects, HMRC enquiries, ADRs, and First-tier Tribunal cases
- Supporting M&A transactions with VAT input on acquisitions and disposals
- Delivering internal and client presentations and writing technical articles
- Identifying and promoting VAT service opportunities with clients and intermediaries
- Delegating and reviewing the work of junior team members, providing constructive feedback and guidance
- Managing team operations including appraisals, billing, and people development
- Staying up to date with technical developments and sharing insights across the firm
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Manager ready to step up, or a current Senior Manager seeking a new challenge in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
What you'll need to succeed
To thrive in this role, you'll bring:
- CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification
- Proven experience in VAT advisory and project management
- Strong technical knowledge of UK VAT and indirect tax legislation
- Ability to deliver practical, commercial advice and communicate complex issues clearly
- Experience managing HMRC enquiries and VAT aspects of corporate transactions
- A proactive approach to business development and relationship building
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
