Grade: SEO – Senior Executive Officer (Digital, Data and Technology). Base salary: £46,677 – £54,957. Digital, Data and Technology Annual Pay Supplement 16% is included above. Pension: 28.97% of base (RoS contribution). Annual leave: 38 days (increasing to 42 days with length of service). Working pattern: 35 hours per week; flexible patterns considered. Location: Hybrid; base either Meadowbank House (Edinburgh) or St Vincent Plaza (Glasgow). Contract: Permanent.

Join our innovative tech team as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to shape the future of Registers of Scotland (RoS). You will lead on exciting projects, solve complex challenges and support our digital infrastructure that underpins all internal user products and services to the public.

Key Responsibilities
Ensure services are integrated, delivered and operate as required.
Work with and support third‑party providers in delivering infrastructure services.
Collaborate with technical architects to translate architectural designs into operations.
Contribute to the direction of the services, including budget management, technology road‑maps, projects, initiatives and tasks.
Essential Criteria – Skills and Attributes
Substantial experience providing senior‑level network engineering support, strong background in troubleshooting and maintaining complex infrastructure.
Proficient with firewall technologies, especially Palo Alto solutions.
Hands‑on expertise with VPN technologies, notably GlobalProtect.
Track record of taking ownership of complex infrastructure challenges and delivering robust solutions within tight deadlines.
Adaptive and collaborative; experience in agile cross‑functional teams.

Respond to the online assessment invitation (acquired via Hackerrank) within 3 days.
The following conditions apply:
Applications not accompanied by CVs or behaviour answers >300 words will not be considered.
Failure to complete the online assessment results in disqualification.
Applicants are advised to format their statements in STAR format and may use MS Word or Google Docs.
RoS may check answers with an AI detection tool and will contact for a pre‑screening call to verify responses.
Applications will be assessed under Civil Service Recruitment Principles.

Successful candidates from stage one are invited to an in‑person interview comprising:
