Senior Java Quant Developer - Equity Derivatives

Job overview: Join to apply for the Senior Java Quant Developer - Equity Derivatives role at UBS. You will be part of the Principal Algorithmic Trading Equity Derivatives crew in London, working with the front office to build user-facing sales and trading applications.

Responsibilities

• design, develop and support the US-centric variant of our Equity Derivative pricing and electronic trading platform, translating complex business and regulatory requirements into solutions
• apply software engineering practices to ensure the quality, security, reliability, and compliance of our solutions, focusing on both functional and non-functional needs
• work closely with the global team to further develop and innovate the platform — building observability into our solutions, monitor production health, help to resolve incidents, and remediate the root cause of risks and issues
• share knowledge and expertise with colleagues, help with hiring, and contribute regularly to our engineering culture and internal communities

Your Expertise / Qualifications

• Excellent Java software development skills ideally with exposure to real-time low latency pricing systems
• Takes an automated approach to testing to ensure delivery of high-quality solutions
• Experience of establishing and exploiting DevOps capabilities
• Serve as a hands-on technical expert with an interest in learning new technologies and practices
• Mandatory 5+ years’ experience in the Equity Derivatives asset class
• A strong communicator with experience of working in a front office environment, facing off to the business and picking up business knowledge at every opportunity
• Experience playing a full part in a closely knitted team environment
• Demonstrates the ability to adapt quickly to new challenges and potentially juggle several tasks at the same time
