The purpose

Senior Landscape Architects are expected to have a growing expertise in landscape architecture and expected to play an active role in the day-to-day running of projects. They will be expected to play an active role in the design direction of projects and to contribute to the strategic aims of tor&co. They will be expected to demonstrate their design flair and their aptitude to undertake a range of tasks. Senior landscape architects will be working towards membership of, or submitted an application for chartered membership of the Landscape Institute (CMLI).

Responsibilities

  • Promotion of tor&co message – understand and be able to communicate core values and mission statement
  • Contribute towards client, consultant and local authority meetings with senior members (attend alone when required)
  • Attend and contribute towards public consultation events and other presentations
  • Lead site visits
  • Support senior members of the team at key meetings or presentations
  • Participate in an active role with clients and collaborating with other professionals (e.g engineers)
  • Develop good relationships with other design consultants and clients
  • Bring to the attention of the Technical Directors and Directors cross discipline opportunities and new work leads.

About You / Qualifications

  • 5+ years industry experience post CMLI qualification
  • Strong conceptual and analytical design skills
  • Excellent design flair and creative approach to Landscape Architecture
  • Extensive experience of and working within the English Planning System
  • Experience on various scale projects with large scale project experience desirable
  • Proficient in VectorWorks/ CAD, Microsoft Office and National Building Specification with the ability to com-petently use (be familiar with) some or all of the following Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign and Illustrator) and Resoft WindFarm, QGIS or at least the willingness and ability to learn
  • Excellent presentation of work and communication skills
  • Strong understanding of project ex-penditure and fee monitoring
  • Business development experience desirable
  • Right to work in the UK
