Role: Senior Finance Accountant – Financial Control / Group Reporting (UK and Group level). This role is focused on compliance management, external audit, annual statutory accounts, month-end close (SOX controls), and internal reporting for non-trading entities, with opportunities to contribute to broader Finance initiatives.

What You’ll Bring

This role requires a chartered accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA). It is suitable for a first mover from practice or for individuals currently working in industry.

Day to Day You’ll Be

  • Support management of the external audit relationship
  • Preparation of annual statutory accounts
  • Support month-end close process
  • Accounting of the non-trading entities including month end reconciliations
  • Provide support to ensure a robust SOX control environment is in place and risks are appropriately managed
  • Support technical accounting initiatives within the team
  • Support tax management including corporation tax, international tax, R&D claims, VAT and internal reporting
  • Regular liaison with Financial Control, Finance Revenue Team, Business Partnering, FP&A, Internal Audit and other key stakeholders
  • Projects as deemed necessary by the Senior Finance Manager
  • Involvement in wider finance initiatives to evolve and improve Group Finance
  • Technical accounting
  • Planning and organising multiple activities to deadlines
  • Ability to influence and persuade challenging internal and external contacts
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and forecasting skills
  • Clarity of vision and ability to drive change
  • Newly or near qualified Chartered Accountant

Experience - Essential

  • Experience of working in, or having clients in a fast paced, complex environment
  • Experience of overseeing the production and reporting of financial accounts, with appropriate processes and controls
  • Previous experience in a regulated environment (SOX/FCA)
  • Experience with Big 4 accounting firms and/or demonstrated work with listed companies
