Senior Legal Counsel, Electrification, UK & IE – ABB. Join to apply for the Senior Legal Counsel, Electrification, UK & IE role at ABB. This position reports to Cluster Lead Counsel NEU. The work model is hybrid with some travel to ABB sites in UK and Ireland. This role contributes to the UK and Ireland Electrification business.

Responsibilities

• Provides end-to-end legal services and integrity advice to one or more departments or operating units within the Electrification business area.
• Reviews and negotiates contracts, drafts commercial agreements and other contractual terms in collaboration with relevant global and local business stakeholders plus Legal and Integrity team members.
• Monitors and manages legal affairs, including but not limited to litigations (incoming and outgoing claims) and activity reports.
• Occupies a seat at the table on local strategic business matters providing advice and identifies risks, external threats, and opportunities to the company, proactively and proposes appropriate strategies.
• Supports with local country fiduciary duties and good corporate governance, if applicable.

Qualifications

• University Law Degree with certificate in legal practice or hold subsequent legal/professional qualifications.
• A qualified Solicitor (8 to 10 years PQE) with a practicing certificate admitted in England and Wales.
• Fluent in English.
• Hands-on business partner attitude with a solution-oriented mindset, coordinating with cross-functional and cross-country teams in complex transactions.
• Superior advocacy and communication skills, including effective written and oral communication, practical negotiation ability, and the capacity to think clearly under pressure.
• Highest integrity and professionalism, with a passion for excellence and quality.
• Ability to work in a complex international environment and experience working with different cultures; supports diversity and inclusion.
• Experience in an engineering or industrial sector is desirable.
