Legal Counsel / Senior Legal Counsel | In-House | Hybrid | Construction & Technical Contracts

Location: Leeds, Birmingham, or London (Hybrid – 1 day/week in office)

Experience: 4–10 years PQE

About the Role

We’re working with a global leader in energy and environmental services to find a Legal Counsel or Senior Legal Counsel to join their thriving in-house legal team. This role supports the high-performing Places & Communities Division, a key driver of innovation and revenue across the business.

You’ll be part of a collaborative legal function that’s deeply embedded in commercial strategy, working alongside senior stakeholders to deliver practical, business-focused legal advice.

What You’ll Be Doing

Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating construction and refurbishment contracts (JCT, NEC, etc.)

Advising on tenders, project variations, and operational matters

Collaborating with internal teams and external counsel to support strategic initiatives

Balancing legal risk with commercial opportunity in a fast-paced environment

What We’re Looking For

UK-qualified solicitor or barrister (or common law equivalent)

4–10 years PQE (flexible based on experience)

Strong knowledge of UK construction law and industry-standard contracts

Public procurement experience is a plus

A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and strong stakeholder engagement skills
