We’re growing and want you to be part of our journey. Our Actuarial & Consulting Team comprises over 400 pensions consultants and actuaries advising clients across the private, public and not-for-profit sectors.

We advise on helping trustees and sponsors manage defined benefit plans, run large-scale communications projects and implement alternative reward and pension provision. The work range is vast with opportunities to gain new experiences and test your skills.

Role and Team

This role will be a post transaction specialist, part of our Risk Settlement team. The team of over 35 colleagues offers full insurance de-risking services for Trustees and Sponsors of Defined Benefit pension schemes and also provides services to insurers. Isio completed around 1 in 6 bulk annuity transactions in 2024.

This is a key strategic area for Isio. Building on current successes, we anticipate growth in this sector. The role offers opportunity to work in a dynamic area aligned with strategic focus.

Responsibilities

• Managing a variety of pension schemes from buy-in through to buyout and wind-up.
• Using project management skills to support clients navigating the wind-up journey, collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
• Building relationships with clients, their advisors and the risk-settlement team to ensure smooth progress.
• Working with clients directly, as part of a team, and developing those around you.
• Assisting in the development of new business with existing and new clients.
• Technical aspects: understanding the pensions insurance industry, processes for wind-up and buyout, supporting post-transaction processes through wind-up, and producing clear documents and presentations.

Key Skills & Experience

• Experience – relevant post transaction risk settlement industry experience.
• Technical knowledge – excellent UK pensions knowledge and wind-up legislative experience.
• Communication – ability to explain complex problems clearly.
• Enthusiasm and motivation for solving problems and delivering outcomes.
• Project management & client delivery skills, especially with multiple demands.
• Teamwork – ability to work in a team or lead a team depending on experience.
• Commercial skills to develop business and identify opportunities.
• Qualifications – formal actuarial qualification may be beneficial but is not essential.

Location & Working Style

The Risk Settlement team is based across UK offices with locations including Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Croydon, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Manchester and Reading. We work on a hybrid basis, combining office and home working. We foster strong communities with regular team events.
