The role

As a Senior Mechanical Designer, you’ll:

• Provide point of contact with professional engineering colleagues and stakeholders for discipline-related issues during the design lifecycle.
• Contribute to design reviews and ensure coordination and functionality of designs.
• Allocate discipline tasks to team members, review drawing outputs, and ensure inter-discipline coordination according to standards.
• Promote effective cooperation across teams.
• Assist in managing customer relations and developing business opportunities.
• Advise on methods and tools, providing technical assistance to designers.
• Support the preparation of drawings in line with ISO standards, meeting time, cost, and quality requirements.

This full-time role (37 hours/week) is based in Warrington, Bristol, Leicester, or Newbury.

Essential experience

• Open to all engineering backgrounds; nuclear experience is not required.
• Experience in detailed design environments.
• Proficiency with CAD tools.
• Knowledge of general engineering drawing practices.
• Experience leading a multi-disciplinary design team.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or equivalent in a relevant discipline.

Security Clearance

The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance.
