Job Title: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Bristol

Salary: £50,000 - £57,000 + Bonus + Benefits

Job Description

Due to ongoing success and company expansion, our client is looking to add a skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to their team. The role involves leading projects from inception to completion, primarily focused on machinery design for the packaging industry.

The Role

• Attend specification meetings with customers.
• Provide technical guidance to colleagues and take ownership of mechanical design aspects.
• Maintain high standards in project documentation.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary design engineers to resolve issues and ensure timely project completion.
• Remain commercially aware during projects.
• Produce parts lists, assembly drawings, and detailed drawings.
• Conduct risk assessments on machinery and assemblies.
• Attend project meetings and update Project Managers on progress.

The Person

• 5+ years' experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer.
• Proficient with SolidWorks or similar software.
• Capable of producing 2D and 3D models.
• Perform engineering calculations and analysis.
• Confident in leading a technical team on larger projects.
