The Opportunity

Amentum is the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the PPP (Programme and Project Partners). This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver ~£7bn of major projects. PPP hires high-value expertise from across regulated and comparable sectors to work in a collaborative environment.

The Project

The Sellafield Product and Residue Store Retreatment Plant (SRP), delivered by the Programme and Project Partners (PPP), will safely receive all special nuclear material packages for retreatment into new 100-year storage packages. The SRP facility helps ensure long-term safety and security for future generations.

The Role

Senior Mechanical Engineer with DJR experience to join the team in Birchwood, Warrington. In this role your responsibilities could include:

• Managing and directing designers in delivery of mechanical plant and equipment.
• Production and checking of Design Justification Reports (DJRs).
• Prioritising work to support manufacturer schedules.
• Working knowledge of plant layout, setup, installation and alignment of plant and equipment for works test, integrated test and site installation.
• Writing and checking works test requirement documentation and Integrated works test documents for plant, equipment and machinery.
• Writing and checking O&M manuals.
• Experience in providing support to resolution of manufacturing, inspection and test Technical Queries, production permits, and concessions.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (e.g. HNC/HND with significant experience).
• DJR Experience.
• Working towards or attained chartered or incorporated status with a recognised professional body (e.g. IMechE).
• Experience in highly regulated environments is advantageous.
• Experience using Autodesk Inventor.
• Experience and working knowledge of CDM, SoMSR, PUWER & LOLER.
