ROLE OVERVIEW:

This Senior National Account Manager role reports directly to the Grocery Director and will take ownership of two of the UK’s biggest grocery retailers – Sainsbury’s and Morrisons. It’s a high-profile role within the grocery team that requires strong commercial acumen, customer management expertise, and the ability to drive growth through strategic business planning and flawless execution.

  • Lead the commercial relationship with Sainsbury’s and Morrisons, driving sales, share, and profitability.
  • Deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts.
  • Develop and execute tailored joint business plans in partnership with your customers.
  • Lead commercial negotiations across pricing, trade terms, promotional funding, and JBP.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with category, shopper/brand marketing, supply chain, and finance to bring the category and brand story to life.
  • Ensure strong account fundamentals, including forecast accuracy, EPOS reporting, trade spend management, and market performance tracking.
  • Support the overall grocery strategy by delivering first-class execution and building strong customer intimacy.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience at Senior National Account Manager (or equivalent) level within a branded FMCG business (ideally food and beverage, though wider FMCG categories will be considered).
  • Strong experience managing UK Grocery retailers, ideally including exposure to Sainsbury’s, though this is not essential.
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills with a track record of driving growth and delivering results.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build lasting customer relationships and deliver compelling sales opportunities.
  • Strong commercial acumen, P&L management experience, and an understanding of category management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams to deliver customer and business objectives
