About the Organisation:

National Services Scotland (NSS) is a national NHS Board operating right at the heart of NHSScotland providing invaluable support and advice at a strategic and operational level. NSS supports customers to deliver their services more efficiently and effectively and we offer shared services on a national scale using best-in-class systems and standards. Our priority is always the same – to improve the health and well-being of the people of Scotland. We do this by working in partnership with colleagues across Health and Social Care to deliver fit for purpose solutions and systems, delivering high quality services that help our stakeholders to free up resources so they can be re-invested into essential services.

The Post:

We are seeking nurses with infection prevention and control (IPC) qualifications and experience for a senior IPCN role. The work of the Infection Prevention & Control Team within ARHAI Scotland is encompassed in six ARHAI Scotland Priority Programmes; ICBED Infection Control in Built Environment & Decontamination (ICBED), National Policies, Guidance and Evidence (NPGE), Care Home Infection Prevention and Control (CHIPC), Clinical Assurance (CA), Healthcare Associated Infection Surveillance and Epidemiology (HcAISE) and Scottish One Health Antimicrobial Use and Antimicrobial Resistance (SONAAR).

Part of NHSScotland Assure, ARHAI Scotland leads and supports efforts to prevent healthcare associated infection by means of guidance development, surveillance, operational support and training, covering areas such as incident and outbreak management, decontamination, the built environment, research and infection prevention and control expertise across health and social care settings.

The Candidate:

Are you a first level registered nurse with an infection prevention and control qualification? Do you have the relevant clinical expertise, experience of leadership and innovation within this setting? Why not consider an opportunity to work within Antimicrobial Resistance and Healthcare Associated Infection (ARHAI) Scotland, part of National Services Scotland, working in partnership to deliver Health Protection services which enable and support a safer and healthier Scotland.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication and organisations skills, someone who can prioritise, assess and decision make, someone who is proactive, innovative and enthusiastic.

Knowledge of ARHAI Scotland would be advantageous. It is vital that you demonstrate the NSS values of working with respect and care, openness and integrity.

Location and Working Pattern

This is a National post. The post is flexible with working from home becoming the norm plus access to NHS NSS buildings across Scotland to use as an office base, too. This post is Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week.

It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
