Salary: £38,404 per annum plus benefits including a final salary pension scheme, generous annual leave, and flexible/hybrid working.

Location: Manchester. The role is based in Manchester with a hybrid working approach; remote work options are supported when combined with regular on-site contact days (normally 1-2 days a week).

Introduction

Arts Council England is an arm’s-length body of the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport responsible for distributing lottery funding across the cultural sector. The small Procurement team sits within the Finance department. We are changing procurement across the organisation to deliver high quality value-for-money services through effective procurement and contract management, aligning with corporate objectives such as Net Zero and equality, diversity and inclusion. We recently won an award for embedding accessibility into a tender project.

Role Details

The postholder will support the Procurement Manager to deliver value-for-money through the effective procurement of goods and services and in compliance with public procurement regulations. You will provide advice, guidance and support to departments across the organisation, including the preparation of tender documents and supporting the evaluation and contract award process.

Requirements: experience of public procurement; thorough understanding of the Public Contract Regulations and the Procurement Act; knowledge of e-procurement systems; attention to detail; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work with limited direction; and understanding of the Arts Council’s duties under current equalities and diversity legislation.
