About The Role

Chemonics UK seeks a Senior Operations Manager for an innovative financial services initiative that connects investors with impact investment opportunities in emerging and frontier markets. This venture leverages Chemonics’ 50 years of experience across 150+ countries to provide investors with access to vetted impact investment opportunities that deliver both financial returns and measurable social and environmental impact.

The initiative addresses the growing demand from investors for transparent, professionally managed impact investment solutions that align with their impact objectives while delivering competitive returns, providing end-to-end services that simplify the traditionally complex process of impact investing in emerging markets.

The Senior Operations Manager will be responsible for managing the operational growth and development of this initiative. The role offers significant exposure across the Chemonics group and strategic partnerships, requiring strong collaborative relationships aligned with Chemonics' values of caring, integrity, opportunity, excellence, and innovation.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery from initiation to deployment for major or multiple minor initiatives.
  2. Identify logical grouping, sequencing, and delivery approach of key milestones.
  3. Work with the finance business partner to establish project costs, benefits, and manage budgets.
  4. Establish governance processes and reporting expectations for the platform.
  5. Ensure all operations adhere to FCA regulations and guidelines.
  6. Prepare monthly project status reports for wider reporting schedules.
  7. Maintain transparent tracking of the project, including risks and issues, providing real-time status updates.
  8. Provide succinct options and recommendations to senior stakeholders when delivery risks arise.
  9. Foster strong relationships with stakeholders and partners.
  10. Research industry and regulatory landscape, providing insights and demonstrating these in project approach and timelines.
  11. Continuously improve work processes and adaptability.

Qualifications, knowledge, skills, and experience

  • Knowledge of impact investing principles, FCA regulations, and ESG frameworks.
  • Familiarity with impact measurement methodologies, such as GIIN standards.
  • Relevant degree, professional qualification, or equivalent experience.
  • At least five years’ experience managing projects in impact investing, fintech, or financial services.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to self-manage and deliver tasks with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to connect with various stakeholders across the consortium.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Capable of working to deadlines and multi-tasking.

  • Role based in Chemonics UK London office with a hybrid working arrangement.
