Location: Canary Wharf, London (Hybrid)

Senior Ops Officer required to join a payments and foreign exchange business at a pivotal stage of growth. With new systems, services, and clients being onboarded, this role will be crucial in ensuring smooth operations, robust controls, and exceptional client service.
As part of a close-knit team, you will oversee international payment flows, safeguarding, reconciliations, and operational governance, acting as a key escalation point for complex queries.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end processing of international payments across SWIFT, SEPA, CHAPS, Fedwire, and Faster Payments.
- Authorise payments, ensuring accuracy, proper approvals, and adherence to cut-off times.
- Perform daily reconciliations of client and safeguarding accounts, escalating discrepancies where required.
- Support FX and treasury transactions to ensure liquidity and settlement efficiency.
- Prepare reconciliation reports and assist with audit readiness.
- Identify operational risks, control gaps, and process inefficiencies, proposing improvements.
- Produce daily/weekly management information on payment volumes, risks, and exceptions.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners on system and process enhancements.
- Provide operational input during design, testing, and rollout of new tools and workflows.
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years’ experience in payments operations, covering domestic and cross-border networks.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding requirements and payments operations best practice.
- Proven ability to handle high-volume, time-critical transactions with accuracy.
- Experience in building or enhancing payment operations.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to support, train, and mentor junior colleagues.
