Senior Oracle Fusion Technical Consultant (Data Migration Focused)
Location: Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom. Hybrid working with occasional travel to base office.
Responsibilities
- Data Migration: Support the design, build, and execution of data migration activities into Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP and HCM.
- Data mapping and transformation: Assist in preparing data mapping sheets and transformation logic using standard templates (e.g. CV040, Data Migration Catalogue).
- Data loads: Execute and monitor data loads using CloudBridge, FBDI, and HDL templates under senior supervision.
- Data validation: Validate and reconcile data between source and target systems, highlighting discrepancies for resolution.
- Data cleansing and pre-load validation: Support data cleansing, enrichment, and pre-load validation activities.
- Documentation: Maintain migration logs, documentation, and load reports in line with programme governance.
- Cutover readiness: Contribute to cutover rehearsals and post-load verification exercises.
- Integration: Assist in configuring or testing inbound and outbound data flows using Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC).
- Data handling: Support data extraction and file handling via SFTP, Object Storage, and other OCI components.
- APIs: Gain exposure to REST/SOAP API connections between Fusion SaaS and external systems.
- Reporting: Support the generation of validation and reconciliation reports using BI Publisher (BIP) and OTBI.
- Analytics: Assist in preparing simple analytical dashboards or exception reports under guidance from reporting teams.
- Governance & Quality: Follow established development and documentation standards, ensuring traceability and audit readiness.
- Quality checks: Participate in data validation reviews and quality checks.
- Defect management: Support defect tracking and resolution during SIT, UAT, and Dress Rehearsal cycles.
- Knowledge sharing: Contribute to team knowledge sharing and continuous improvement of data migration practices.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience in Oracle Cloud or related technical environments (ERP Cloud or HCM Cloud preferred).
- Basic understanding of data migration concepts and ETL processes.
- Hands-on exposure to SQL/PLSQL, Excel-based data mapping, and data validation techniques.
- Familiarity with FBDI and HDL templates for Oracle Fusion data loads.
- Awareness of Oracle Fusion data structures (e.g. AP, AR, PO, GL, HR, Payroll).
- Interest in learning CloudBridge, OIC, and related OCI services (Object Storage, ATP/ADW).
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced delivery environment.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Desirable Skills
- Exposure to Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI), BIP, or OTBI reporting tools.
- Awareness of ETL accelerators, and related automation utilities.
- Knowledge of public-sector project environments or UK Gov Cloud frameworks.
- Basic understanding of data security and governance principles.
- Oracle or technical certifications (OCA/OCP or Cloud Foundations) are advantageous.
