About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Payroll Administrator to join our award-winning pensions administration business, on a hybrid basis. XPS puts scheme members at the heart of everything they do. Our services include scheme administration, first-time outsourcing, member communications, and scam protection.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for completing payroll processes related to data entry tasks and activities, working effectively in a team.
  • Gather data from various sources and carry out data entry and basic analysis activities.
  • Perform standard and non-standard payroll tasks autonomously and in a timely manner.
  • Communicate clearly with Pension Administration team members regarding payroll and pensioner queries.
  • Support senior colleagues with payroll projects and business development activities.
  • Assist in training and mentoring less experienced team members, checking their work for accuracy.
  • Identify errors and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Proactively take ownership of tasks and ensure their completion.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Considerable experience in a payroll environment.
  • Experience in end-to-end payroll processing, including RTI and BACS submissions.
  • Ability to handle high volumes of work.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage workload independently and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in manual calculations.
  • Good knowledge of payroll legislation.
  • Excellent customer service skills and experience handling calls.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Flexible approach to work.
  • Experience in training and mentoring colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • Strong GCSEs in Maths and English (minimum grade C/4).
  • Desirable: Experience using Resource Link, good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, professional payroll qualification.
