Overview

Gleeds, United Kingdom (Location Flexible). We are seeking a Senior People Development Partner to join the National & Global Learning and Development (L&D) function, developing, delivering and managing L&D programmes to support personal and professional development across the business.

This is a newly created role designed to shape key areas of our people development function globally. You will own initiatives and partner with Gleeds stakeholders to develop strategic frameworks and deliver programmes that influence careers, build capability, and create more inclusive pathways to leadership.

About the opportunity

To be successful, you will have experience developing and delivering L&D programmes on a national or global scale, ideally in an internal L&D partner role. You will have worked with senior management or board-level stakeholders and have people management experience. As Senior People Development Partner, you will join our dedicated people development team as a senior member, reporting to the People Development Director, with management responsibility for a people development consultant. You will also support the delivery of other L&D initiatives in line with talent development and inclusion strategies.

We are flexible on working location and will consider candidates local to Nottingham, Birmingham, Manchester, Warrington, Leeds and Bristol offices.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Act as group lead for mentoring, shaping and scaling mentoring globally
  • Design, deliver, embed and evaluate strategic mentoring programmes including:
    • Global female mentoring programme (initial focus)
    • Business development mentoring
    • Informal and peer mentoring initiatives
    • Develop resources, tools and guidance for mentors and mentees
    • Provide thought leadership on mentoring best practice internally
    • Define and deliver a global mentoring strategy that supports talent development, succession planning and D&I priorities
    • Drive continuous improvement of learning programmes with data-driven evaluation and stakeholder feedback
  • Lead end-to-end management for specific global learning programmes, designing, delivering and embedding high-quality programmes
  • Develop evaluation, feedback and reporting frameworks to measure success
  • Influence regional and global stakeholders as programme sponsors and advocates
  • Ensure scalability across geographies
  • Lead or support other strategic programmes such as Early Careers and Apprenticeships, people management and leadership, and performance/talent programmes
  • Work with the People Development Director to deliver the People Development Strategy aligned to the People Plan and organisational goals
  • Collaborate with the senior People Development team to provide a global people development proposition
  • Work with the wider People Team on people-related projects

About you

You will need the following knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Experience leading the design, delivery, embedding and evaluation of learning and development programmes
  • Experience implementing a mentoring programme or similar, ideally in a matrixed or global organisation
  • Ability to flex between mentoring and broader development priorities
  • Minimum 5 years L&D experience
  • Expert facilitation skills across face-to-face and virtual learning sessions
  • Strong understanding of digital learning innovation, including mentoring platforms, LMS and collaboration tools
  • Project management skills
  • Understanding of workplace Diversity and Inclusion

Relationship management skills to work consultatively with stakeholders at all levels, including:

  • Ability to influence at all levels including senior leadership
  • Ability to navigate geographical, cultural and structural differences

Qualifications

  • Professional qualifications in L&D, HR or coaching
  • Degree qualification (desirable)
