Overview
Senior Performance Tools Engineer role at Arm — Arm is looking for skilled software engineers to join teams building software performance analysis tools. Successful candidates will contribute to applications that help software engineers and hardware designers to understand and improve performance of workloads running on Arm-based platforms.
Responsibilities
- Craft new features for our performance tools.
- Support and interact with internal and external users.
- Develop improvements and bug fixes for our products.
- Perform code reviews and assist other members of the team.
Education & Qualifications
- Established experience or a Bachelor’s (or above) degree or equivalent experience in a STEM subject.
Essential Skills
- You have proven C/C++ skills.
- You are confident with development of medium sized Python applications.
- You have experience in desktop software development. Experience with developing high level tools like IDEs is desirable.
- You are proficient at debugging and problem solving.
Desirable Skills
- You are familiar with web technologies (TS/JS, HTML, WebSocket, WebUSB, etc).
- You have a good understanding of OS primitives concept such as processes, threads, locks, virtual memory and how they relate to application performance.
- You have awareness of the Hardware System Architecture (pipelines, caches, MMUs, interconnect, timers, multithreading).
- You have contributed to open-source project.
- You have worked with Continuous Integration pipeline and are keen on software quality.
- You have some understanding of the Arm architecture.
