About the Role

The role is for a Senior Analyst to join our fast-growing Chemical Analytics team, which focuses on quantifying and analyzing chemical markets to enable customers to understand current trends, reasons behind them, and future possibilities. Analysts will work closely with editorial and data science teams, primarily responsible for producing short-term price forecasts, managing supply and demand balances, and engaging with clients to explain market nuances. There is also scope to enhance analytical models to improve products and insights or contribute to new product development.

Responsibilities

  1. Price forecast and market analysis: Produce short-term price forecasts, analyze news and developments, liaise with industry contacts and clients.
  2. Supply and demand analysis: Lead activities related to the ICIS Supply and Demand Database, produce insights on industry developments, and develop expertise in key segments.
  3. Client engagement: Lead client engagement activities, build market contacts, attend conferences, and support sales.
  4. Develop analytics models: Lead development and enhancement of analytical models, collaborating with content and data science teams.

Requirements

  1. Experience in commodity markets, preferably in chemicals or refining, in a technical, commercial, or research capacity.
  2. Strong data analysis skills and effective communication of findings.
  3. Excellent storytelling abilities for presenting complex information.
  4. Leadership and collaboration skills in analyzing market dynamics.
  5. Ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  6. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in science, engineering, economics, or related fields.
