Shape the Platform Behind Every Transaction

As a Senior Platform Developer, you’ll use your C# and .NET expertise to design, develop, and enhance the systems that power secure, seamless payments for millions of players. You’ll also play a key role in mentoring others and helping shape the future of our platform.

This is a hybrid role based in Sunderland (3 days in the office).

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead the design and development of tombola’s payment platform and services.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs, backend systems, and integrations with multiple payment providers.
• Develop scalable background services and improve performance, reliability, and observability.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, product owners, and stakeholders to drive projects from concept to deployment.
• Influence technical direction, champion best practices, and mentor junior developers to help them grow.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong commercial experience in C# and .NET (Framework/Core).
• A track record of building scalable, reliable, and secure backend systems.
• Experience working with AWS or other cloud platforms, event-driven architectures, and API integrations.
• A pragmatic, collaborative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
• A passion for coaching and mentoring developers to reach their potential.

Nice to have

• Experience working in regulated industries or a good understanding of payments, compliance, and keeping customer transactions safe and secure.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and integrating with legacy systems.
