The role in a nutshell

As a key member of our Platform team, this role offers an exciting opportunity to enhance platform strategy, cloud automation, and developer experience at UNiDAYS.

You will collaborate with software engineering teams to identify improvements that enhance developer experience and boost engineer productivity. With a hands-on approach, you will improve system performance, reliability, scalability, security, and efficiency.

Our platform team also works to eliminate barriers for other teams, enabling faster delivery through shared tooling. We focus on operational excellence, automation, and self-service capabilities.

We seek a commercially-minded Platform Engineer who can bridge user needs and business goals, building resilient, cost-effective solutions and staying abreast of technological trends.

Day-to-day responsibilities

• Build, test, and deploy cloud services using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Collaborate with software engineers to add value and upskill on cloud needs
• Identify and implement technological improvements across our platform and tooling
• Create and enhance self-service capabilities for software teams
• Monitor platform performance, focusing on SLIs and SLOs with an SRE mindset
• Define, improve, document, and implement best practices
• Participate in on-call duties (one week per month, with a runbook in place)
• Mentor and share knowledge with other engineers

What we need from you

• Strong cloud expertise, especially in AWS services
• Experience with ECS clusters across multiple environments
• Knowledge of security, networking, CDN, load balancing, and storage solutions
• Understanding of CI/CD practices
• Development skills in core languages (C#, Python, TypeScript)
• AWS/Terraform certification

Nice to have

• Database administration experience (MSSQL, RDS, DynamoDB, Neptune, Redshift)
• Mentoring, training, or knowledge sharing experience
• Knowledge of containerization
• Operational incident management and RCA experience
