Overview
Dahlia recruitment are partnering with a leading sustainability business to recruit a new opportunity for a Senior Portfolio Manager to oversee the performance of selected investee companies through their operations. The role is hybrid and ideally based in London with some travel within the UK and overseas. While London is the first choice, applications across the UK will be considered for candidates with relevant experience. The role offers a competitive salary with excellent benefits.
Responsibilities
- Representing investors by taking portfolio management responsibility for selected investee companies, attending project board meetings to update on performance, discuss issues and field questions.
- Working with the relevant portfolio/finance team resources to assist producing board documents and management accounts as well as ongoing asset valuations by supplying relevant information.
- Overseeing the performance of selected investee companies through their operations, identifying, evaluating and proposing opportunities for performance improvements, both economically and operationally; working closely with investee company management and project counterparties to drive performance.
- Assisting the rest of the Portfolio team in wider portfolio management activities, including reporting, portfolio administration, portfolio optimisation, and identifying and developing opportunities for synergies.
- Contributing to regular investor reports and actively contributing to the overall performance of the Infrastructure Team.
Qualifications / Key attributes
- Relevant or transferable degree.
- Technical background in renewable energy and general process engineering experience, with knowledge of bioenergy/AD advantageous.
- Approximately 7 years of professional experience in a technical and commercial role.
- Motivated with the ability to learn quickly, take responsibility and increase autonomous working over time.
- Good communication skills; able to deal effectively with challenging counterparties and build good working relationships with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Understanding of the technical and operational aspects of the various technologies in the portfolio.
- Deep understanding of the economic drivers of the waste management industry and the economics of the technologies in the portfolio.
- Flexible and adaptable; able to react to changing situations and a wide range of activities.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple short and long lead-time workstreams in parallel.
- Adaptable to varying demands of investee companies and portfolio operations.
- Curious with a willingness to interrogate.
- Strong written and Excel skills; numerate with ability to analyse asset performance.
- Legally able to work in the country in which the position is based.
- Thorough knowledge of and compliance with company policies and procedures.
