Overview

Senior/Principal Power System Engineer role in Jacobs’ Future Power Systems team. You will support growth in transmission and distribution, modelling and performing power system studies for major energy clients worldwide. Projects cover generation (conventional & non-conventional), transmission, distribution and industrial systems. Flexible location with potential travel to offices and client sites.

As a Senior/Principal, you will lead the technical discipline at the senior level, delivering innovative solutions that provide value to clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading all study activities (support in the technical bid, modelling, simulations & results analysis, reports, client meetings & presentations, technical discussions, etc.).
  • Work closely with team members across the globe on multiple power system studies for transmission, distribution, renewables, and industrial systems.
  • Conduct power system studies including short-circuit calculations, load flow, protection coordination, harmonic analyses, electromagnetic transients, dynamic studies, etc.
  • Engage with customers such as TSOs, DSOs and renewable developers worldwide.
  • Contribute to low carbon initiatives such as EV, BESS, renewables, and other solutions toward net zero.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Degree or equivalent in electrical engineering (Masters or PhD in a relevant field preferred).
  • Membership of a recognised professional institution/organisation, preferably Chartered; proficient in power system modelling and analysis using DIgSILENT, PSS/E, ETAP and PSCAD software.
  • Experience in power systems, utilities and renewable projects.
