Senior Practitioner – AVS Newcastle Ltd

Location: Dundee, with travel around the community

Contract: Fixed Term Contract Until April 2026

Salary: £23,590 to £25,155 per annum

Hours: 35 per week

Additional Requirements: Applicants must have a full UK licence (2 years) and access to a vehicle. Successful candidates will be required to register with the Scottish Social Security Council (SSSC) within 3 months of starting.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and inspire a team that helps people regain independence after a crisis, delivering high-quality, person-centred care within a regulated service.
  • Work closely with the Service Manager to ensure service users receive compassionate support and mentoring to grow in their roles.
  • Coordinate referrals and liaise with hospitals, GP surgeries, and community teams.
  • Support and mentor staff, students, and volunteers to deliver excellent care.
  • Conduct risk assessments and welfare checks to ensure safe living environments.
  • Manage rotas, respond to out-of-hours queries, and maintain service continuity.

To be a successful Senior Practitioner, you’ll need

  • SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care and PDA in Supervision (or equivalent).
  • Right to Work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to lead and motivate others.
  • Experience in person-centred planning and multi-disciplinary working.
  • Confidence in mentoring staff and supporting their ongoing development.
