Overview
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and 2.2 million when regional and national services are included. Please note the salary is pro rata for part time hours.
We are recruiting to a 0.4WTE B8B Clinical or Counselling Psychologist post in East Renfrewshire HSCP’s Primary Care Mental Health Team (PCMHT) (Bridges). This would be an excellent development opportunity for an experienced B8A Clinical or Counselling Psychologist looking to progress in their career. Bridges PCMHT is a friendly and supportive team offering brief psychological therapies for common mental health problems to people living in East Renfrewshire. The team comprises CBT Therapists, Mental Health Practitioners, Counsellors, and a Consultant Clinical Psychologist. The team embraces new technologies and innovative ways of working and the service is delivered via a hybrid of in-person, video and telephone consultation. This role would involve providing assessment and psychological therapies for clients with more complex presentations within the team; clinical supervision; caseload management and appraisals for Band 7 CBT Therapists; chairing clinical meetings; contributing to service developments delegated by the Clinical Lead; and contributing to the development and oversight of a programme of research activity within the team.
You’ll hold a Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology and be registered as such with HCPC. You’ll have significant post-qualification experience of delivering psychological therapies to working age adults in an NHS adult mental health service. Knowledge and experience of working in PCMHTs would be desirable, although applications from candidates employed in other specialisms are also welcome. Experience and advanced training in delivering and supervising Cognitive Behavioural Therapies (CBT) is essential. Experience in delivering psychological therapies in modalities beyond CBT, and the ability to provide supervision in models such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, would be beneficial. Bridges PCMHT is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion. We welcome applications from candidates with BAME backgrounds, those identifying as LBTQI+, and people with disabilities. We are open to flexible working requests.
You’ll join the large and dynamic South Psychology Dept where you’ll receive professional support and have access to CPD opportunities.
