Senior Principal Engineer - Linux Tech Lead

Job Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity to be the technical lead across multiple new software teams. We are delivering the full Linux stack (firmware, kernel, drivers, applications) to support a new range of Arm hardware devices aimed at AI use cases. You will collaborate with architects and other technical leaders to define work, prioritize tasks, and manage backlogs. The role requires balancing multiple domains such as schedule, functionality, performance, quality, and security.
These teams are part of Arm's wider software group, focused on ensuring successful deployment of the Arm architecture into key software ecosystems. The position is based in our Cambridge office.
Responsibilities:
- Understanding business requirements and technical architecture
- Ensuring strong technical foundations and developing sophisticated solutions
- Defining engineering work packages and managing backlogs
- Communicating and aligning with other technical leaders and teams
- Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven technical leadership across multi-team projects
- Knowledge of Embedded Linux systems, including firmware and kernel drivers (networking, storage, OS)
- Experienced in C/C++ development with some familiarity with Python
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
Nice To Have Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of Arm AArch64 architecture
- Awareness of security threat modeling and security development lifecycle
