Job Description

Our Sustainable Water Management Team is seeking Senior and Principal Flood Risk Modellers to contribute to our national programme of work. You will focus on flood risk management projects, potentially leading or contributing significantly to our external and internal client projects. Responsibilities include driving project direction, collaborating with other water disciplines, and mentoring junior hydraulic modellers.

You will work on flood modelling for FCERM studies, major infrastructure projects across various sectors, and strategic studies. As a key team member, you'll have leadership opportunities, oversee project delivery, and support innovation in flood risk management.

Your Role Includes:

• Providing technical leadership in fluvial and pluvial modelling, using software such as Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, HECRAS, or ICM
• Managing flood modelling studies and developing hydraulic modelling approaches
• Reviewing hydraulic models and preparing technical reports and presentations
• Mentoring team members and supporting business development through proposals
• Managing project, commercial, and financial aspects, and liaising with clients and stakeholders

Candidate Requirements:

• Proven experience in fluvial and pluvial hydraulic modelling
• Leadership in flood modelling teams and model review experience for statutory bodies
• Project management and bid preparation skills
• Ability to work within multidisciplinary teams and experience with infrastructure projects or government agencies
• Strong communication skills and professional chartership (or commitment to achieve it)
• Desirable: GIS, FCERM studies, Flood Risk Assessments, UK flood policy knowledge
