Senior Principal System Architect - SoC Platforms / Consumer Devices

Overview

We are partnered with an industry-leading semiconductor company in the UK to expand their team with a Senior Principal System Architect to take a leading role in the development of cutting-edge SoC solutions for next-generation mobile and compute devices. This is a permanent role offering hybrid working (2-3 days onsite per week) based out of Cambridge, UK. Full relocation and visa sponsorship (where required) are available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine technology roadmaps in collaboration with engineering and product planning teams.
  • Define comprehensive platform architectures encompassing hardware, software, and tools.
  • Collaborate across architecture and core technology teams to align platform and feature development with SoC requirements.
  • Evaluate architectural proposals and IP features, providing leadership to align hardware, software, and platform groups.
  • Represent the company in customer meetings, incorporating feedback into architectural decisions.
  • Create high-level architecture specifications to guide engineering teams.
  • Design experiments and analyses to address architectural questions using appropriate tools and methods.
  • Communicate technical concepts effectively across diverse audiences.

Key Requirements

  • Proven track record in smartphone/tablet SoC architecture or related work experience.
  • Deep technical background and credibility in system architecture.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive progress in ambiguous environments.
  • Collaborative and influential across organizations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across multiple teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; MS or PhD highly desired.
