Overview

We are seeking an Chartered Process Engineer to join a growing engineering team, supporting a range of exciting new projects in the fine chemicals sector. The role is based in Manchester working on a hybrid basis; typically 3 days in the office and 2 days from home. This is a hands-on chemical engineer / process engineer role requiring strong technical capability, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

Provide hands-on chemical and process engineering support for multiple projects in the fine chemicals sector. Collaborate cross-functionally with piping & layout, electrical, and control & instrumentation teams to deliver integrated solutions. Manage multiple projects ranging from large greenfield/brownfield developments to smaller modifications and upgrades.

Key Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer status
• 10+ years of relevant experience in chemical process design
• Background in the fine chemical industrial sector, including:
• PFD/PID development
• Process descriptions & control philosophies
• Process equipment datasheets
• Process schedules for pipelines, valves, instruments, etc.
• Process sizing calculations
• HAZOP attendance
• Collaborative approach, working closely with piping & layout, electrical, and control & instrumentation teams
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for interaction with clients and multidisciplinary teams
• Willingness to travel within the UK and occasionally overseas for client visits and site surveys (no extended stays away from home)
• Ability to manage multiple projects ranging from large greenfield/brownfield developments to smaller modifications and upgrades
