Overview
Senior Project Procurement Specialist – Subcontracted Services role in the United Kingdom. The successful candidate will manage complete project procurement activities, implement sourcing and procurement strategies to optimize costs, enhance supplier quality, and improve reliability. You will report to the Head of Supply Chain, maintain updates on the project procurement plan, project procurement status, vendor management, and relevant risk assessments. Your role is crucial through project execution to ensure effective management of supplier-related risks and opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Sourcing Strategy – Implements effective sourcing strategies in line with business strategy to ensure suppliers have capability and capacity to meet current and future requirements; aligns project supply chain activities with the Head of Supply Chain’s sourcing strategies and approved vendor list; aims for best cost, quality, sustainability and delivery performance.
- Supplier Relations – Manages subcontractor relationships (negotiations, frame agreements, and purchase orders) in partnership with the Head of Supply Chain; conducts direct negotiations to meet project target prices.
- Procedures – Applies company procurement procedures and plans and ensures appropriate implementation and compliance by the project team.
- Monitoring – Monitors the project procurement status and updates the Head of Supply Chain on issues; proactively resolves issues related to procurement cost, quality and delivery.
- Process Excellence – Collaborates with the project team to identify new suppliers and ensures vendor prequalification as per company standards.
- Documentation – Documents general and special conditions for use on all project purchase documents, procurement procedures, and procurement plans, and ensures compliance.
- Compliance – Governs Linxon Global SCM standards on health and safety, sustainability, business ethics, environmental regulations and authority levels; implements and maintains related SCM instructions and procedures.
Requirements
- Experience in Power Sector – Transmission & Distribution.
- Extensive experience in project procurement negotiations for large, subcontracted services (> 70 MUSD).
- Experience in Subcontract Management and timely finalization of main orders for Substation main services (civil works, HVAC, firefighting, installation and commissioning).
- Strong technical knowledge in construction activities with ability to propose optimized technical solutions for cost savings.
- Extensive international experience and knowledge of utilities, standards and specifications in a global company environment.
- Analytical leadership with an independent, solution-oriented working style; strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience in multicultural environments and intercultural sensitivity; ability to lead and motivate by influence.
- Extensive experience in commercial negotiations.
- Experience supporting the effective utilization of supply chain resources based in GETS, India.
Competencies / Skills
- Preferred: Degree in Civil Engineering.
- SCM professional in a highly projectized environment; self-disciplined, autonomous, proactive with urgency.
