The role

We’re hiring a Product Designer to join the Evaluation Tools Group – a cross-functional team building the internal tools that power AI development at Wayve. Our tools help researchers and engineers understand driving model performance, debug complex behaviours, and build scalable evaluation systems.

You’ll work closely with Model Developers, Researchers, and Engineers to design products that enable faster iteration, deeper insight, and higher confidence in AI performance. You’ll help shape products that operate at the heart of Wayve’s AI development loop – from automated testing at scale, to exploratory tools that make model behaviour legible and actionable.

This Product Designer may work across both teams in the group:

• AV Insights - This team provides tools for developers and decision makers to understand introspect, debug, and root-cause evaluation results
• Evaluation Workflows - This team provides tools needed to quickly build and manage automated test coverage at scale, and close the loop on capturing on-road experiences into tests.
  
  

• All-rounder designer - You’re strong in product thinking, UX, and interaction design — with an ability to balance discovery and delivery.
• AI-native mindset - AI has transformed the way you design — from discovery to alignment and solution testing, you leverage AI prototyping to get better and faster insights within each stage.
• Empathy and execution - You get close to users (researchers, engineers, operators), rapidly prototype ideas, and iterate toward impactful solutions.
• Highly technical fluency - You’re comfortable working with researchers and engineers on complex, ambiguous problems. You can build context quickly, understand how systems work, and uncover what users actually need.
• Cross-functional collaborator - You work as part of the team — not just handing over mocks, but shaping product direction, unblocking implementation, and ensuring what we ship creates real value.
  
  

• Experience designing developer tools or technical platforms
