At GSK we are looking to recruit a capable technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) experienced in Historian data software (eg; Aspen IP.21 or AVEVA PI, or similar). The role sits within the Global Supply Chain Digital and Tech (GSC D&T) organization and reports into a Product Director for Process Technologies.
The Global Supply Chain Digital & Tech (GSC D&T) organization transforms the end-to-end supply chain through innovative technologies and digital solutions, ensuring seamless delivery of medicines to patients. The team leverages digital tools, data analytics and automation to drive operational excellence, sustainability, and resilience across the global supply chain network.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and evolve product strategy aligned with business aims and customer outcomes; define and maintain the product roadmap, prioritising for value and feasibility.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and contribute to root cause analysis for the AspenTech InfoPlus.21 suite (IP.21) and AspenTech Inmation.
- Collaborate with central tech functions to ensure data integration to cloud-based platforms.
- Work with engineering, design and business teams to deliver high-impact solutions; establish and track success metrics for product adoption, performance and support.
- Oversee backlog management to ensure items are well-defined, estimated, and aligned with roadmap goals.
- Address IT risks (e.g., Business Continuity Planning, IT security, confidential data management).
- Manage engagement with strategic partners and vendors (including contract addendums and delivery oversight).
- Contribute to future expansion initiatives (e.g., Manufacturing Data Management and Factory Integration).
Location
Ideally based at a GSK manufacturing site in the UK, Europe or USA (examples: Upper Merion, Ware, Poznan, Evreux, Aranda). Location from any other location may be considered; location and hybrid-working discussed during the interview process.
About You
This role involves liaising with a wide variety of stakeholders including on-site and above-site teams and senior managers. You should be a self-starter with strong problem-solving skills, people skills, and the ability to influence others to achieve performance. A continuous improvement mindset and hands-on approach are important.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a relevant technical subject
- Experience / knowledge of managing Historian systems (or similar data platforms)
- Understanding of data governance and compliance (ideally in a highly-regulated environment)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge/experience of GMP would be highly advantageous.
