Job Summary: Our Product team builds and scales Toptal’s platform and products, working closely with our Operations and Engineering teams to support the organization’s growth. We embrace a data-focused approach to ensure each initiative on our product roadmap delivers a meaningful impact on our business and users. Are you a customer-centric Senior Product Manager with a proven track record of taking ownership and delivering results in a fast-paced environment? We’re looking for a self-starting Product Manager to drive innovation at Toptal by expanding the breadth and depth of our product and service offering. This is a remote position. We do not offer visa sponsorship or assistance. Resumes and communication must be submitted in English.
Responsibilities
- Own and lead all aspects of an established agile team, including backlog grooming, triage and prioritization, and cross-functional coordination.
- Define the scope of new product features and ongoing feature improvements.
- Write and prioritize user stories and define acceptance criteria.
- Establish and maintain credibility with internal and external partners.
- Break down complex problems and use data and analytics, combined with user research, to inform product direction.
- Track progress, assess risks, coordinate delivery, and communicate contingency and mitigation plans.
- Run ad-hoc research and business analyses to assess opportunities and risks.
- Identify and solve complex product challenges aligned with short-term goals and long-term strategic initiatives.
- Apply system-analyst techniques and determine hardware, software, or systems functional specifications through user consultations.
In-Week/Month Milestones
- In the first week: onboard, study the Toptal product suite, and become acquainted with your product area and goals.
- In the first month: collaborate with cross-functional teams to organize the roadmap and backlog and partner with development.
- In the first three months: fully support a product category, complete quarterly planning and OKRs, launch features with high business impact, and own a development team.
- In the first six months: discover new product opportunities, develop repeatable delivery models, and refine roadmaps and processes to align with business goals.
- In the first year: deliver roadmap priorities, build impactful products on time, and scale the team to meet growing needs.
Qualifications and Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in a technical discipline.
- At least 3 years of proven software product management experience.
- Ability to manage the full product lifecycle from discovery to execution.
- Proven track record of independently owning major product initiatives from discovery through launch and iteration.
- Experience launching mobile, desktop, and web applications across the full lifecycle is a plus.
- Knowledge of AI product development processes and experience designing AI-powered features that improve engagement and business outcomes.
- Experience building intelligent workflows by connecting systems and automation tools at scale.
- Experience with third-party system integrations is a plus.
- Comfortable analyzing data with SQL or spreadsheets and conducting user research.
- Strong data-driven decision-making skills with diverse tools and methodologies.
- Ability to craft solutions through data and a customer-centric approach.
- Ability to build wireframes and mockups with a focus on simplicity.
- Meticulous with a high bar for quality in user stories, designs, technical approaches, and testing before release.
- Humility, willingness to learn, and readiness to contribute to goals.
- Experience with agile methodologies and globally distributed teams in a fast-paced company.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing environment and handle diverse challenges and deadlines.
