As the Senior Production Manager, you will lead and inspire teams responsible for delivering high-quality, commercially driven content. You will oversee the end-to-end development of content across multiple large-scale projects, ensuring alignment with business goals, customer needs, and financial efficiency.

In this role, you will be responsible for production management, financial oversight, and resourcing strategies while maintaining a strong focus on content innovation and commercial impact. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to optimise workflows, enhance team performance, and drive business growth through content production. A deep understanding of process elarge-scale project management, budget control, and data-driven decision-making will be essential to your success.

This position requires a forward-thinking leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, combining creativity with strategic execution to drive Twinkl’s content production forward.

Ongoing projects/how you’ll spend your day:

Production Management & Scheduling

Manage the planning, execution, and timely delivery of multiple large-scale content projects, maintaining scope and quality.

Develop and monitor production schedules, using management tools to track progress, mitigate risks, and ensure milestones are met.

Allocate resources and set clear expectations for deliverables, coordinating cross-team communication and managing project dependencies.

Monitor production process efficiency and output, driving improvements to meet budgets and schedules wherever possible.

Regularly update stakeholders on project status, making necessary adjustments to meet goals, and maintain comprehensive documentation (briefs, timelines, reviews etc).

Oversee budget management for production projects, ensuring cost control and financial efficiency.

Develop and maintain financial forecasts for content initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall company budgets.

Work with finance teams to monitor project financials, making adjustments as needed to maintain both budget and quality standards.

Resourcing & Allocation

Develop and implement resourcing strategies, drawing on in-house, agency, and outsourcing opportunities to deliver resourcing plans that align with project goals and timelines.

Ensure that resources are allocated effectively to meet content production demands and shifting business priorities. Manage capacity and skills across different teams.

Monitor the performance of outsourced agencies or external partners to ensure they meet Twinkl’s quality standards.

Align content production strategies with commercial objectives to drive business growth and profitability.

Conduct performance analysis and use data to assess the commercial impact of content initiatives, collaborating with marketing and product teams to refine content development strategies to ensure content aligns with market demand and customer expectations.

Content Development

Oversee the creation of content prototypes, ensuring an optimal balance between quality and cost-effectiveness to maximise customer engagement and business outcomes.

Oversee the development of content concepts from production sign-off to completion, ensuring that clear and actionable plans are in place to achieve commercial objectives.

Ensure content is engaging, high-quality, innovative, and tailored to customer needs.

Team Motivation & Engagement

Inspire and lead cross-functional content teams, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and high performance.

Develop strategies for enhancing team engagement, encouraging innovation, and maintaining high morale.

Implement feedback mechanisms to ensure continuous improvement and professional development within the team.

Drive commercial awareness and consideration into all content development teams.

We're interested in anyone who meets one, or a combination of the following:

5+ years of experience in a senior leadership role within a FMCG, production or manufacturing environment, with proven experience leading teams and managing large-scale operations.

Experience in managing diverse, geographically distributed teams, including international contractors and remote workers.

Demonstrated expertise in project management, budget management, and production scheduling in fast-paced environments.

Strong background in leading change management initiatives.

Exceptional people management and leadership skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain high-performing teams.

Proven track record in optimising processes, workflows, resourcing strategies and problem-solving.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with finance, education, and senior leadership teams.

A keen focus on continuous process improvement and implementing best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in content production, media, or education-focused production environments.

Advanced knowledge of production management software and tools.

PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or other relevant certifications.
