The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Programme Manager to provide central leadership across our entire portfolio of client programmes. This is a critical, hands-on leadership role, not a back-office administrative function. You will lead our largest and most complex programmes, commanding the trust of clients and colleagues through your expertise.

Working in close partnership with the Managing Director, you will be instrumental in shaping the success of our client engagements, driving projects to completion, and having a direct influence on the company's direction. This role has a clear and defined career path to a Director-level position.

Key Responsibilities

• Spearhead the entire portfolio of programmes, ensuring a consistent and high-quality approach to delivery.
• Act as the lead Programme Manager for flagship client programmes.
• Develop and embed robust programme management frameworks and tools.
• Serve as a primary, trusted point of contact for senior clients, managing complex communications with confidence.
• Drive and support complex contractual and commercial negotiations.
• Proactively identify and manage programme risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Mentor and support colleagues to build a high-performing team with a collaborative ethos.

About You

We are looking for a seasoned and commercially astute leader who can operate with autonomy and confidence.

Your Profile:

• A senior leader with 5+ years of experience in a senior management role and at least 10 years of total experience in project or programme management.
• Ideally, you will have a background in public procurement and/or the waste management sector. However, we strongly encourage applications from candidates with demonstrable, strong transferable skills from related sectors such as construction, infrastructure, or utilities.
• You are confidently capable of managing the high expectations and demands of senior clients.
• You have a deep understanding of the trade-offs involved in complex contractual negotiations and can navigate them effectively.
• An exceptional communicator, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage a wide range of audiences.
• A collaborative and supportive team player who is motivated by the success of the wider team.
