Overview

Senior Project Director - Ireland role at WSP, Belfast, Northern Ireland. The Irish Roads team is seeking a Senior Project Director in Northern Ireland with extensive post-qualification experience in the design and construction of Major Roads Infrastructure projects. The role is primarily client-facing in the region, leading a portfolio of major transport schemes and delivering projects through the whole lifecycle with a track record of leadership in major programmes.

Responsibilities

  • Primary point of contact with senior and executive level client representatives on the major project portfolio
  • Lead a large, multi-disciplinary team to deliver the client\'s overall requirements
  • Develop new proposals, mobilise projects, and maintain monthly project reviews to ensure high-quality, proactive outcomes
  • Work with the Client and design teams to deliver compliant designs on time and within budget, following health and safety, internal QA procedures, and technical review requirements
  • Manage resources effectively to meet fluctuating workloads and client demands
  • Direct the project team to deliver cost-effective solutions to the agreed programme; mentor and support less experienced team members
  • Develop relationships with other WSP teams to access additional resources for multi-disciplinary delivery
  • Agree fees and manage the commercial position on the project

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate

  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with extensive post-qualification experience
  • Leadership skills to inspire and lead a large team on complex projects
  • Project management and technical delivery lead for medium to high complexity road schemes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong leadership and management abilities; effective communication internally and externally
  • Ability to establish, build and sustain strong client relationships
  • Proven track record of delivering outcomes against strategic priorities
  • Strong project and commercial skills with the ability to develop innovative delivery solutions that meet client requirements and provide value for the business
  • Experience in Roads, with knowledge in design and supervision of major road-related projects
