Overview

You will be joining the integrated client team on one of the most ambitious and high-profile infrastructure programmes in the UK. This organisation is shaping the future of national transport, and this role places you at the heart of the delivery, ensuring that engineering integrity is maintained from detailed design through to final handover.

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the project's success. This is a hybrid position requiring a significant site presence (minimum three days a week) in the West Ruislip area, with one day at the Euston head office. Your day-to-day will involve overseeing construction assurance, acting as the 'eyes and ears' on site to ensure quality and buildability. You will manage the crucial interfaces between heavy civils works and the incoming rail systems, ensuring design intent is carried through from contractor designs to final installation, and will also have line management responsibility for a Project Engineer.

Salary & Location

Salary: £79,836 – £99,829.20

Location: 1 day per week at Euston, 2 days West Ruislip, remainder from home.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee construction assurance on a major civil engineering project, ensuring quality and buildability on site.
  • Act as the client’s on-site representative, maintaining engineering integrity from detailed design through to final handover.
  • Manage interfaces between heavy civils works and incoming rail systems, ensuring design intent is carried through from contractor designs to final installation.
  • Provide line management responsibility for a Project Engineer.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Senior Project Engineer or an experienced Project Engineer ready to step up.
  • A strong background in heavy civils projects, ideally within the rail industry.
  • Experience in construction delivery, site assurance, and project handover stages.
  • Ability to manage technical interfaces between civil works and other disciplines like rail systems.
  • Experience working within a client-side or integrated team environment is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with NEC contracts and the principal designer role would be an advantage.
  • Chartership is beneficial, but extensive practical experience is equally valued.
