Overview

Senior Project Engineer position based in Aberdeen. This is a contract role for 6 to 12 months PAYE, with occasional offshore or UK site visits.

Responsibilities

  • Operate at an advanced level to manage modifications, CAPEX projects and contracts, with credible EPC and front-end project development knowledge to support commercial and project management decisions.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators and Tier-1 contractors; collaborate with Tier-1 contractors to establish effective workflow interfaces across the organisation.
  • Contribute to the overall programme execution strategy and project framing, including preparation of project requirements and determination of the best means to satisfy them.
  • Plan, document and manage project scope, schedule, resource requirements, budgets, risks, opportunities and quality requirements; manage stakeholder engagement and influence.
  • Identify and manage project risks and opportunities, plan responses, and address issues affecting projects.
  • Ensure effective communication and reporting processes with all key contributors and parties involved in the project.
  • Prepare, gain approval for, refine and update business cases justifying project initiation or continuation in terms of benefits, costs and risks.
  • Develop and maintain schedules, budgets, and cost forecasts; control costs against approved budgets.
  • Implement Management of Change to adjust project scope and update configuration documents as required.
  • Able and willing to travel and contribute to offshore operations.

Qualifications

  • Technical competence to safely and efficiently manage topsides operational interfaces.
  • ECITB Intermediate or equivalent in the oil and gas industry; experience with operators or Tier-1 contractors preferred.
  • Strong commercial awareness of supply chain management and understanding of project financing and cost control principles.
  • Good communication and influencing skills; ability to present complex issues clearly.
  • Education: Degree in Project or technical engineering or relevant discipline.
  • Work Experience: Direct experience in topside modifications and projects; direct experience with major projects preferred; experience with reimbursable and lump-sum contractors.
