Overview

Senior Project Manager (Water & Environment) – WSP

The role focuses on delivering projects in the water, infrastructure, flood defence, and environmental sectors. You will be part of the Project Management and Commercial Management Team within the Civil Infrastructure and Utilities Group, supporting career development and working with a diverse, global client base.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with quality management systems and driving efficiencies in project execution;
  • Providing leadership and guidance to project teams in a multi-disciplinary environment;
  • Supporting work winning and marketing WSP services;
  • Organising and chairing client meetings;
  • Planning, monitoring and controlling projects with values from £1m to £100m with a degree of autonomy;
  • Managing project change and delivering projects within agreed commercial fee arrangements;
  • Undertaking contract management and administration under various framework and standalone contracts;
  • Undertaking line manager responsibilities for Assistant, Graduate/Undergraduate PMs;
  • Delivering projects within agreed financial metrics and taking accountability for outcomes;
  • Making decisions on complex issues and providing direction on approach and priorities.

What We Will Be Looking For

  • Professional qualification in project management, quantity surveying and/or an engineering discipline;
  • Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Maths (STEM) or similar;
  • Experience with NEC accreditation and NEC Contracts administration;
  • Membership of professional bodies such as APM, PMI, MRICS or MICE;
  • Background in water, linear infrastructure and/or environmental projects is beneficial, with a focus on developing your project management career;
  • Competence in stakeholder management, risk, planning/scheduling, and commercial management;
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software;
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in project management or related field.
