Based at our Knowsley HQ, with occasional travel across the UK, this is your opportunity to join a forward-thinking EPC contractor driving the global energy transition.ResponsibilitiesYour Role in Engineering SuccessAs a Senior Proposals Engineer, you’ll take the lead in crafting compelling proposals that balance technical precision with commercial strategy. You’ll be instrumental in securing major projects across sectors including CHP, BESS, gas peaking, hydrogen, and data centres.Beyond proposal development, you’ll also mentor junior team members and help refine our internal processes—making a lasting impact on both our business and your colleagues.Key ResponsibilitiesLeading the development of detailed, competitive proposals including scope, pricing, and termsReviewing customer RFQs and technical documentation to shape tailored solutionsCollaborating with Sales, Engineering, and Project teams throughout the bid processCoordinating site visits, supplier meetings, and subcontractor engagementSupporting Sales Engineers during client interactions and presentationsIdentifying and mitigating technical and commercial risksManaging supplier and subcontractor RFQs and proposal documentationActing as the main point of contact for proposal-related client queriesEnsuring seamless handovers to the Project Delivery teamReporting progress and insights to senior leadershipDriving continuous improvement across the proposals functionUpholding HSEQ standards across all proposal activitiesProviding guidance and coaching to junior engineers within the teamWhat You’ll BringEssential:5+ years’ experience in technical proposals or engineering salesStrong foundation in mechanical and/or electrical engineeringProven track record in leading complex bidsAbility to interpret technical specifications and negotiate commercial termsExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skillsStrategic thinker with strong commercial awarenessProficiency in Microsoft OfficeDesirable:Degree or HND in Mechanical or Electrical EngineeringExperience in CHP, BESS, hydrogen, peaking plants, or data centre projectsPrevious mentoring or leadership experience within engineering teamsAbout Clarke EnergyClarke Energy is a global EPC contractor specialising in sustainable energy solutions.
