About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quality Engineer (MEPH) to join our Major Projects team at our Old Oak Common development in London. Join us and be part of the largest construction project in the UK.
HS2's new c. £1 billion Old Oak Common station will become the UK's best-connected rail station. Our Balfour Beatty VINCI SYTRA joint venture will handle the final design, construction, and commissioning of the station in Northwest London.
Once completed, the station will feature six underground platforms and up to eight on the adjacent Great Western Main Line, offering high-speed rail services to the Midlands, central London, Scotland, and the North, plus direct links to three major airports. It will include passenger and retail facilities, providing an exceptional experience for passengers and visitors.

We seek a talented Senior Quality Engineer to lead Quality management for the MEPH work of the Old Oak Common Station project.
As a MEPH Senior Quality Engineer, you will ensure the highest quality standards across your assigned Work Packages, oversee all quality activities and documentation, and address non-conformances promptly.
Key responsibilities include:
- Prioritize quality management to achieve Right First Time.
- Act as the main contact for all quality-related topics within your Work Packages.
- Support subcontractors in developing and reviewing quality documentation.
- Inspect works during progress and upon completion to ensure compliance.
- Manage non-conformances and ensure their timely resolution.
- Support the Quality Manager in maintaining performance metrics and dashboards.
- Assist in maintaining and promoting the Quality Management System.
Who we're looking for
You will have:
- Practical experience in quality management within construction, ideally on project-based work.
- Strong relationship-building skills with project teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Technical knowledge in at least one MEPH discipline.
- Effective communication skills, including influencing senior management.
